As a Technical Sales Engineer at Honeywell, in the North West and Midlands region, you will be responsible for working closely with the field service team and the customers on their needs, sharing knowledge about Honeywell solutions to improve efficiency and focusing on complex reactive quotations ensuring technically compliant quotations are provided to the customer. This will be a field-based role with an expectation of travel to customer sites or Honeywell offices in the region.

Key requirements

  • Undertake customer site surveys, provide customer support, verify customer information, create estimates, do customer follow-up, and proactively search for opportunities to sell
  • Apply technical knowledge of Fire systems during all stages of the project to ensure the offering meets the customers needs and is compliant
  • Support Field Service Professionals (FSP), Field Service Supervisor’s (FSS) with proposal generation for medium-high complex opportunities and support engineering teams in the field to ensure 100% completion of the works required
  • Sends proposals to customers and follows up for feedback and their approval/order to proceed, maintain contact throughout project cycle including post work completion in regard to finances and invoicing
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers to drive improvements in customer experience, achievement of revenue & margin targets and customer satisfaction.

Key skills and qualifications

  • Experience within the building technologies industry relating to Fire systems service maintenance and installation/commissioning
  • Technical understanding of Fire Systems, preferably Honeywell products
  • Experience of generating technical quotes/proposals to customers and securing business from these actions
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels, both inside and outside of the business coupled with interpersonal & relationship building skills
  • Commercial awareness, having operated in a financially motivated environment
