Job Title: Waste Management Supervisor

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Waste Management Supervisor to oversee the operations of multiple waste transfer stations across Leicestershire. This is a key role ensuring compliance, efficiency, and safety in waste management processes. You will be responsible for supervising site operations, HGV drivers, managing staff, management and operation of plant and equipment and ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of waste transfer stations, ensuring smooth and efficient running.
Supervise site staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
Ensure all waste management activities comply with relevant environmental regulations and legislation.
Maintain high health & safety standards, conducting risk assessments and implementing safety protocols.
Manage site budgets and resources, optimizing operational costs.
Liaise with local authorities, contractors, and regulatory bodies as required.
Prepare reports and maintain records on waste volumes, compliance, and operational performance.

Requirements:

Proven experience in waste management, environmental services, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of waste transfer station operations and environmental legislation.
Supervisory or managerial experience, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of health & safety regulations in waste management.
Ability to work flexibly and travel between sites across Leicestershire.
A valid UK driving licence.
