gap healthcare is currently recruiting for a new and exciting opportunity on behalf of our clients based in Westcliff-on-Sea for an experienced Deputy Manager for children’s registered service providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment designed to harness, develop and sustain the hopes, talents and aspirations of children.

Main Purpose of this role:

The Deputy Manager will support the Home Manager by modelling excellent practice, developing colleagues’ skills, and ensuring high-quality residential services for children and young people. This role includes safeguarding their well-being, supporting their development, and assuming leadership in the Manager’s absence.

Main Responsibilities

Supporting Children and Young People:

  • Safeguard and promote their welfare.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
  • Support educational achievements and provide diverse activities.
  • Lead consultations with children, families, and professionals.
  • Ensure the home is Ofsted compliant.

Management and Leadership:

  • Ensure staff meet the individual needs of young people.
  • Clarify key worker roles and ensure effective practice.
  • Promote staff development and supervise Senior RSWs.
  • Manage employee relations and develop professional relationships.
  • Provide leadership, motivate employees, and ensure focus on objectives.

Other Requirements:

  • Provide out-of-hours support.
  • Adapt to the unpredictable nature of residential care.
  • Ensure Health and Safety for yourself and others. Assist in implementing policies.
  • Oppose unlawful discrimination and comply with company policies.
