Maintenance Technician

We are actively recruiting for a maintenance technician to join a world leading company who manufacture in the UK.

This is a position based solely at our Southend plant, covering on a rotational basis a shift pattern of 6am till 2pm and 2pm till 10pm. You will join a multi-skilled team supporting manufacturing at this key site.

Role & Responsibilities
As amaintenance technician, you will be responsible for:

Carrying out pre-planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical assets including mould and power presses, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and ancillary equipment etc.

Providing engineering solutions when immediate spares aren't available (retrofitting, reverse engineering or modifying equipment)

Working in line with maintenance techniques and best practices complying with Health and Safety regulations

Respond to reactive maintenance call outs

Maintaining accurate maintenance and inspection logs

Assist in outage planning, scheduling and coordination

Supervising contracted labour when on site

Supporting and mentoring apprentices.

Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the following knowledge / qualifications:

Time Served Apprenticeship in a Mechanical or electrical engineering field.

Strong experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC controlled plant and associated equipment.

Experience working in a fast-moving production environment.

Willing to undertake additional specific plant training.
