Seeking a Maintenance Technician on a contract basis for my Leigh-On-Sea based manufacturing client.

The business operates electro-mechanical production and assembly equipment, to produce mainly moulded products.
You will join a multi-skilled team supporting manufacturing at this key site.

Role: Maintenance Technician (Contract)
Location: Leigh-On-Sea
Shift: Mon-Fri. One week earlies: 6am-2pm. One week lates: 2pm-10pm
Overtime and call outs possible
Pay rate: 21 per hour PAYE only. Plus holiday pay in addition
Vetting: Referencing & clear drug screen required.
Applicants must already hold the rights to live & work in the UK


Main Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out pre-planned (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical assets including mould and power presses, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors and ancillary equipment etc.
  • Providing engineering solutions when immediate spares aren't available (retrofitting, reverse engineering or modifying equipment)
  • Working in line with maintenance technicians and best practices complying with Health and Safety regulations
  • Respond to reactive maintenance call outs
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance and inspection logs
  • Assist in outage planning, scheduling and co-ordination
  • Supervising contracted labour when on site



Ideal candidate profile:

  • Time served apprenticeship in a mechanical or electrical engineering field is preferred, or strong relevant experience in a similar role
  • Strong experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC controlled plant and associated equipment
  • Experience working in a fast-moving production environment
  • Willing to undertake additional specific plant training
