M&E Design Engineer

This position requires an enthusiastic post graduate M&E design engineer to undertake full design responsibilities and coordinate with the design and construction departments of a progressive company that initiates, constructs and hands over projects to the principal care home operator.

Based in a grade 2* listed office in the heart of Clifton, Bristol.

Working closely with the managing director and senior construction and design personnel.

Projects will vary from 90 bed new build care homes to additions and extensions currently within their operational stock.

Normally the design requirement will be to stage 4 and beyond, dependant on the project requirement.

The design work will include, electrical, mechanical and ventilation.

The designer will be expected to provide, design SBEM models followed by as built SBEM on completion. They will liaise with building control to ensure full compliance of their designs, and coordinate with respective sub-contractors to ensure all aspects of the design are applied.

Renewables will form part of their design, and experience with Biomass systems would be an advantage.

Ability to provide a full M&E specification, including room data sheets, together with building compliance reports.

Competent with CAD 2 systems and will be required to provide support throughout the tendering process.

Hold a clean driving licence and be expected to visit sites under construction as required.
