Are you an experienced Quality Engineer ready to take on a key leadership role in a technical manufacturing environment? Our client, a specialist in providing advanced solutions for the aerospace and Ministry of Defence sectors, is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join their team in St Helens.

In this pivotal position, you will lead quality initiatives and be the key figure within the Quality team, ensuring compliance with exacting industry standards. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will oversee the quality strategy and act as the primary authority on all quality matters within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage quality assurance and control activities to ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Oversee problem-solving efforts, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits and manage preparations for external audits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing processes and product quality.
  • Represent the organisation in quality-related interactions with customers and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the Quality team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment, ideally within aerospace or defence sector
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and other quality management systems.
  • Good computer literacy
  • Exceptional problem-solving and leadership skills.
  • A relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualifications is highly advantageous
