We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations, mostly trunking. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively. The ideal candidate will have experience of curtainsider trailers.

Duties

• Operate a lorry to transport goods to designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring that it is secured properly for transport.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures related to transportation and safety.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the lorry.

Skills

• Proven experience as a Class 1 Driver in a similar role, preferably with curtainsider driving experience.
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with team members and clients.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.
