Maintenance and Facilities Team Leader required in Leigh, for a successful, medium sized company established for over 100 years.

In the role you will lead all maintenance department activities, improvements, developments and provide day to day production support for equipment breakdowns across the site.

Providing an effective preventative maintenance schedule, provide calibration of key equipment, control maintenance spares stocks, ensure records are maintained and support contractor work on site.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure production plant is safe, fit for purpose, ready to use and available when the demand is present, working closely with Production to understand their needs and support the process in meeting on time delivery targets.
  • Ensure Maintenance workload is prioritised, communicated, provided in a timely manner and that the work is cost effective, that spares are readily available but spare part cost tightly controlled.
  • Working closely with production and engineering departments, improve the capabilities of the installed plant and equipment, develop new machines, provide innovative solutions and ensure the business is ready to respond to changing customer demands.
  • Provide an effective preventative maintenance schedule, reducing production downtime and preventing repeat equipment breakdowns, while maintaining product quality with the minimum of maintenance effort.
  • Ensure employees and visitors comply with all current health, safety and environmental legislation and that contractors are closely monitored and supported during their time on site.

You will need the following skills and experience as the Maintenance and Facilities Team Leader

  • Minimum of HND/HNC in an Engineering field with a Time served Apprenticeship.
  • Operating in a fast-paced environment to challenging deadlines.
  • Background in Manufacturing and facilities management is essential, though experience
