We are currently recruiting for a CNC Turner Programmer for our client in Leighton Buzzard.  They are highly regarded within the Aerospace Industry. Additionally, their skills extend far beyond that, including F1, Oil & Gas, Medical, Hydraulics, Injection Moulding and much more.

This particular company are the market leader for Deep Hole Boring, Deep Hole Drilling, CNC Honing and CNC Turning.

What’s the job?

  • Also, editing prewritten programs, the full machine setup including material, tooling, speeds, feeds.
  • Carry out in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
  • Producing one off, as well as low to medium volume precision parts in a range of hard and soft metals.
  • Experience of Fanuc controls would be advantageous.
  • Have a strong working history within the manufacturing industry within a machine shop environment.
  • Confident in working on parts up to ¢300mm x 3m in length, using lifting equipment provided as some of our work can be large. Hoist training will also be provided.

Who can do this?

  • Ability to write new CNC programs long hand at the machine with little or no supervision.
  • Proven time served experience in programming, setting and operating 2 axis turning machines.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of interpreting engineering drawings and standards.
  • Have a hands-on, quality driven, positive, self-motivated manner in order to be able to hit the ground running.
  • Excellent working knowledge of 2 axis CNC machines, cutting speeds and feeds, geometric tolerances.
