Job Summary

  • To support the Pharmacist in the accurate and timely dispensing of all prescriptions in accordance with the GPhC (General Pharmaceutical Council) Standards.

Job Duties:

  • Complete accurate labelling of all prescriptions, maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Daily entry of all dispensed prescriptions into prescription book.
  • Accurate dispensing in accordance with MEP (Medicines, Ethics and Practice guide).
  • Effective prescription management.
  • Management of dispensary stationary and general dispensary standards.
  • Compliance with stock management.
  • Understanding and delivery of Pharmacy SOPs.
  • Regular performance audit.
  • Support rest of team when required.
  • Fridge temperature management.
  • Preparation of wholesale orders.

Requirements:

  • Dispensing assistant course or equivalent.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail and accurately perform repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and be able to prioritise workload.
  • Must be able to work well in a team.
  • Must demonstrate a clear patient focus.
  • Must be able to self-audit and to accept responsibility for actions.
