Our client is an award-winning niche client law firm based in Leighton Buzzard. It has been helping individuals and families throughout Bedfordshire and Nationwide for many years. Most of their clients have been with them for decades and 95% of their clients said they were likely or certain to recommend them.... interested?

They are now expanding and looking for a Court of Protection Solicitor/Cilex to join their specialist team.

The Role

To provide a high standard of service for the COP and Trusts clients of the firm and for clients from other areas of work within the private client department when required. The following list includes the tasks required to fulfil the job role. This list is intended as a general guideline and is not exhaustive.

  • Implement the Senior Management’s requirements for billing, time recording and departmental expenditure as set out in the business plan for the current year
  • Time recording all chargeable & non-chargeable time
  • Maintain the document management structure as set up in the department
  • Ensure compliance with COP and Trusts requirements
  • Market the services of other departments to potential clients
  • Marketing for the department to include, networking meetings, article writing and any such work that is required
  • Keeping the relevant areas of the website updated to ensure that they are both legally and factually correct
  • Attend relevant training courses/conferences/seminars to keep up to date and to complete your training requirements for the year
  • Maintain the Lexcel Standard requirements within the department to include keeping the department procedures updated as well as any relevant client related letter templates
  • Supervise support staff to ensure that they are maintaining the standards as set out in the performance section of the current employee handbook and provide training where necessary
  • Delegate work to the support staff as appropriate and be responsible for progressing matters as necessary
  • Generally ensuring compliance with the firm’s procedures, policies and office manual to include the firm’s policies on employment, anti-money laundering, use of IT, health and safety and client care
  • Any other tasks that the business may reasonably require from time to time

Required Experience, Qualifications & Knowledge

  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 2+ years of post-qualification experience
  • Previous experience of working in a COP legal environment

Marketing and networking experience

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: INRO £50-60kpa dep on exp

Holidays: 25 days plus Bank Holidays - Closed for Christmas
