Their dedicated teams offer specialist legal advice in the areas of Residential Conveyancing, Court of Protection, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Medical Negligence, Personal Injury, Personal Injury Trusts, Probate and Wills.

Job Description

Fee Earning in the Conveyancing department running a full caseload of conveyancing files under the supervision of the team leader.

  • Sale - drafting contract packs and dealing with enquiries raised by the Buyer’s solicitors. Preparing the file for exchange of contracts. Dealing with all pre-completion and post-completion matters to include obtaining redemption statements and preparing completion statement. Also dealing with the removal of restrictions.
  • Purchase - requisitioning searches. Reviewing titles and raising enquiries on the contract papers. Drafting contract report and preparing the file for exchange of contracts. Dealing with all pre-completion and post-completion matters to include registration formalities and registering restrictions, as necessary.
  • Transfer of Equity - drafting TR1’s and dealing with registration formalities and liaising with lender when required.
  • Corresponding with clients and all parties connected to each file by phone and email or face to face. Progression and day to day management of files.
  • Assisting other fee earners with the processing of the files including specific tasks and projects, if required.
  • Maintaining the document management structure as set in the department.
  • ensuring compliance with the firm’s procedures, policies and office manual to include the firm’s policies on employment, anti-money laundering, use of IT , health and safety and client care
  • Any other tasks that the business may reasonably require from time to time

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Good IT skills including emails, Word, Excel and Iris.
  • Good time keeping
  • Good interpersonal & organisational skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Work to high levels of accuracy & attention to detail
  • Confident dealing with a wide range of people via telephone, email or face to face
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy office and to prioritise between various competing tasks.
  • Case Management Systems knowledge.
  • The Candidate - Required Experience, Qualifications & Knowledge
  • A comprehensive understanding of the processes involved from inception to completion in buying and selling properties and also transfers of equity. It would be beneficial to have an understanding of Court of Protection and Trust matters.
  • PQE - At least 4 years’ experience of working a in a conveyancing department including high level of client contact and running own caseload.
  • Confident working with Microsoft Office software (mainly Outlook, Excel & Word)
  • Familiar working with case management systems (Alb would be useful however induction can be given).

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: INRO £50-60kpa dep on exp

Holidays: 25 days plus Bank Holidays - Closed for Christmas
