To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for a Quality Supervisor to come and join our team at our Leighton Buzzard site, in Bedfordshire.

Role Summary: The Quality Supervisor role is to ensure the concrete is produced to the correct standard for roof tile production and the product is made to the required specification.

This will be a day shift role.

6am to 2pm

Monday to Friday

The Candidate will ideally have a quality and batching background with previous management experience. They will also have the ability to understand a process and relate sample data to correct and improve it. Training will be provided to the successful applicant.

The role involves being a member of a multi-functional quality team aiming to achieve key targets within Quality, Safety and the Environment.

Responsible for:  Supervising a small team of quality technicians to ensure compliance to ISO90001 standards, Supervising and overseeing the  H&S in production/testing areas, batching operation, ordering, receipting & checking raw materials, finished goods batch quality, cleaning, maintenance and calibration of quality testing equipment.

Specific responsibilities include:

Ensuring strict safety / quality standards are adhered to

Analysis batch data to ensure compliance to ISO90001 standards and make improvements

Operating the complete batching plant in manual and automatic mode

Help resolve batching sequencing faults after a power cut or incorrect operation from production.

Ensure daily tests & production records are up to date.

All raw materials. Check correct material & source.

Moisture content of incoming sand, main mix & screw mixer

Monitor batch weights, apply pre authorised adjustments

Monitor & ensure correct mix design used for each production line

Implement and communicate 24 hour plan to the factory floor

Analysis of data to maintain control

Working with the technical / production team to improve processes and complete project works

Drive continuous improvement and communicate importance of quality to team members and other company departments.

Conduct Return to works, 1 2 1's and monitor the performance of the quality team.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

Health & Safety experience (preferably with an IOSH certificate or above)

Production / Quality Managerial experience

Knowledge of concrete production & roof tiles

Knowledge of material properties.

5s & Quality Assurance
