Think Accountancy and Finance are proud to be working with a well-established and growing business in Leighton Buzzard, currently looking for a Finance Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team.

About the Role:This is a varied role with a strong focus on Credit Control, alongside Purchase Ledger responsibilities. You will be involved in chasing outstanding debt both in the UK and overseas, while also supporting key aspects of Accounts Payable.

This is a hybrid position, with office and home-based working available once training is completed. The business offers excellent support, training, and opportunities for long-term growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full credit control process, including chasing outstanding payments (UK and overseas) via phone, email, and post

  • Run weekly aged debt reports and support escalation procedures where needed

  • Monitor and manage the credit control and accounts inboxes, resolving queries in a timely and professional manner

  • Issue monthly customer statements and keep account information up to date

  • Import invoices, update ledgers, and assist with regular financial reporting

  • Process AP invoices, including credit card transactions and expense claims, in line with company procedures

  • Match invoices to purchase orders and complete supplier statement reconciliations

  • Conduct credit checks on new customers and escalate any concerns

  • Provide general support to the wider finance team and assist with ad hoc finance tasks as required
