Job Title: Tool Maker

Salary: Up to £40,000

Location: Leighton Buzzard

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Tool Maker to join a global business as a for a production facility based in Leighton Buzzard.

As Tool Maker you will be responsible for supporting the production team with a proactive service to enable production lines to run smoothly, efficiently and reduce downtime.This will involve operating toolroom machinery, interpreting technical drawings and maintaining changes and repairs of plastic injection mould tools.

Key responsibilities for a Tool Maker

Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve issues and address with minimal downtime to aid production.

Estimate length of time required to complete a job.

Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations.

Ensure company targets are met in respect of quality and efficiently.

Manufacture new tooling and ancillary spares to support production activity.

Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance on mould tools and tool version changes.

Be actively involved in improvement activities to support the achievement of departmental and company objectives.


Essential skills for a Tool Maker

Knowledge of measurement and build process of injection moulding tools.

Understanding of service scheduling.

Ability to understand engineering drawings.

Experience of manufacturing processes.

Planning and prioritising activities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Multi-tasking experience and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
