HGV Mechanic

HGV Mechanic required. Our client has over 30 years of experience providing waste removal services to construction companies, local councils and domestic clients throughout Bedfordshire. They are now looking for a HGV Service Engineer due to the growth of the business.

Successful candidates will service a range of tippers and plant including grab lorries, roll off tippers, 8 wheelers, dumpers and skip lorries and ideally mini diggers, large excavators, screeners and crushers.

• Day time service shifts for trucks. HGV include Volvo and Renault.
• Servicing and fault finding 8-wheeler tippers
• Vehicle inspection every 6 weeks
• Brake tests every 12 weeks
• Using diagnostic equipment
• Workshop based but attending breakdowns roadside on occasions.
• Servicing grab lorries, roll off tippers, 8 wheelers, dumpers and skip lorries and ideally mini diggers, large excavators, screeners and crushers. Experience isn't needed on all vehicles/equipment.

• 3+ years of experience in a similar industry. HGV experience is essential. Plant experience is advantageous.
• Heavy Plant or Mechanical qualifications/ courses/ training advantageous
• Ability to drive HGV's or Heavy Plant equipment advantageous
• HGV Class 1 or 2 advantageous.

• Salary: 37,440 - 57,200
• Working hours: 6am- 5pm (1 hour lunch break) 7-5pm potentially available
• Overtime available
