EC&I Project Engineer - Nuclear Sector
Salary: 40,000-50,000 per annum

Are you a driven professional with expertise in Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation (EC&I) looking to make an impact in the nuclear sector? We're seeking a Project Engineer to join our dynamic team and lead the delivery of critical construction projects within the nuclear industry.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project delivery, identifying risks and opportunities, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimise outcomes.
  • Assess the feasibility of designs, ensuring timely production by design teams.
  • Lead construction works, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Review and approve contractor documents under the Project Manager's guidance.
  • Support and mentor the supervisory and engineering team.
  • Perform site surveys and liaise with designers.
  • Act as a site contact for project issues and Test Team Leader when required.
  • Ensure adherence to the Zero Harm initiative.
  • Manage systems and processes to ensure a "Right First Time" approach.
  • Take ownership of handover documentation and drive operational target programmes.
  • Liaise with off-site functions to promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Manage subcontractors and advise on commercial and operational risks.
  • Contribute to work-winning processes by providing technical input.
  • Undertake EDF-specific training for various supervisory roles.


Essential Skills:

  • Strong EC&I discipline knowledge with relevant qualifications (HNC/HND advantageous).
  • Experience managing construction operations, phasing, and testing.
  • Excellent numeracy, commercial awareness, and technical knowledge.
  • Strong leadership with a collaborative working style.
  • Effective problem-solving, communication, and decision-making abilities.
  • Expertise in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management, with knowledge of CDM legislation.
