As a Works Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of civil engineering projects, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of works in line with specifications, budgets, and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Manage and coordinate all site activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality-driven completion of works, including drainage, kerbs, service ducts, earthworks, and site clearance.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage site teams, subcontractors, and labour to ensure a collaborative approach to project delivery while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and enforce compliance with project specifications, relevant standards, and regulations. Oversee the preparation and implementation of Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and ensure the quality control process is followed.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Champion health, safety, and environmental standards on site. Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with safety procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Progress Monitoring: Oversee the planning and delivery of works, providing regular updates to senior management regarding progress, potential risks, and any challenges that may impact project timelines.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: Significant experience in a Works Manager or similar role within a civil engineering environment, ideally with a focus on drainage, kerbs, service ducts, earthworks, and site clearance.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Health & Safety Awareness: A strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in civil engineering.
