Job Title:
Pre-Construction Lead

Description & Background:
We're seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Lead to join Sizewell C, one of the UK's largest megaprojects. This nuclear power station will provide clean electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years. You'll lead the pre-construction team at a critical phase, ensuring successful planning and initiation of this transformative project that supports Britain's Net Zero goals by 2050.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project management and construction support strategies
  • Define work scopes and manage interfaces between programs
  • Lead and develop high-performing multidisciplinary teams
  • Drive program delivery within safety, quality, time, and cost targets
  • Monitor progress against milestones and manage budgets
  • Identify and mitigate project risks
  • Develop critical equipment and materials planning
  • Foster collaboration between teams and supply chain partners
  • Maintain level 3 schedules aligned with project timelines
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement
  • Implement construction readiness review processes
  • Provide reporting to Executive team
  • Manage interface between Engineering and Delivery organizations

Experience Required:

  • Extensive experience in large complex construction projects
  • Strong understanding of project planning processes
  • Experience with EPC contracts (NEC and FIDIC)
  • Background in Nuclear and Safety Quality Culture
  • Knowledge of piping system design and pressure systems
  • Strategic planning and construction sequencing expertise
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Excellent stakeholder management abilities
  • Proven team leadership skills

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management
  • Experience in highly regulated environments
  • Nuclear pressure systems knowledge
  • High security environment experience
  • Change control and risk management expertise
  • Track record of building diverse teams
