Job Title:
Telecoms Construction Manager

Description & Background:
At Sizewell C, the Telecoms Construction Manager will lead various elements of the site's telecommunications scope, including private radio, public mobile networks, and fiber across the main development site. This role is essential in ensuring critical telecoms infrastructure supports the construction of the nuclear power station. Working closely with key stakeholders like Vodafone, BT, and private radio contractors, you'll manage both delivery and operational aspects of this challenging infrastructure project.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical delivery of telecoms infrastructure within budget and timelines
  • Perform on-site quality inspections and workmanship checks as NEC Supervisor
  • Resolve technical radio and fiber issues as site develops
  • Manage infrastructure performance and capacity challenges
  • Coordinate with Utilities Construction teams on design and temporary works
  • Handle stakeholder relationships across internal teams and external contractors
  • Manage change control through established processes
  • Identify and initiate early warnings to mitigate risks
  • Monitor system performance as site conditions evolve
  • Lead procurement for new contracts as required

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project or Construction Management
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in telecoms projects
  • Experience working on large construction projects
  • Project management qualification desirable (PMP, PRINCE2)
  • Strong understanding of radio/telecoms operations
  • Construction or Project Management qualification

Essential Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of telecoms project management
  • Experience with fiber, private radio, and public mobile operations
  • Strong quality assurance capabilities
  • Excellent stakeholder management abilities
  • Proficient with MS Office, Cemar, MS Project, GIS
  • Risk management and problem-solving expertise

Salary, Location & Details:

  • Site-based at Sizewell C (minimum 3 days/week on site)
  • 37 hours per week
  • Long term, Full-time position
  • Salary: £450 PAYE to £620 UMBRELLA per day
