AR720 - CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator

Location: Leominster 

Salary: £33,000

Overview:

Our client is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer Setter Operator with manual machining skills to join our busy production team at Easters Court in Leominster. They currently run a manual lathe and three XYZ CNC Machines making mostly brass components.

  • Proturn CNC Lathe with ProTrack control system
  • CNC bed mill with ProTrack control system
  • Turning centre with driven head and Siemens Shop Turn control system

Previous experience working with Siemens-controlled machines is preferred. A good understanding of how to set up, program, and operate these or similar machines machining metal is essential. Experience with CAD/CAM would also be beneficial.

Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be considered. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce precision brass components from 3D CAD models and drawings using manual and CNC milling and turning machines.
  • Aid in the development of new parts and products from discussed ideas and concept sketches.
  • Identify the most effective tooling for efficiently and accurately producing a range of parts.
  • Determine which parts are best produced on specific machines and manage different operations accordingly.
  • Work to tight tolerances and check your own work meets the required standard.
  • Work independently and understand all aspects of the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure suitable quantities of raw material are available to produce the required components in a timely manner.
  • Develop an understanding of the products and how different components engage with each other.
  • Maintain a clean and manageable working area.
  • Manual fabrication skills such as soldering and using hand tools would be advantageous.
  • Possess a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Take a responsible approach to health, safety, and environmental risks, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
