Are you a self-motivated, hard-working qualified accountant(ACA/ACCA) with solid experience in a UK practice, ambitious person looking for a new challenge?

You will working in a UK firm of accountants as either an accounts senior/practice accountant, assistant manager and be seeking your next level of responsibility

If you are, then we have an exciting opportunity for you at our clients office as Head of Team/Practice Accountant within our Owner Managed Business Department.

Your primary responsibilities will encompass managing and ensuring the delivery of annual compliance services including corporate tax, annual accounts and personal tax, alongside outsourcing services including bookkeeping and management reporting to a diverse portfolio of clients.

You will report to the Head of OMB and will work closely with Client Relationship Partners and specialists across the firm, including the audit and tax teams. You will support the Head of OMB in achieving departmental objectives and contribute strategically to the broader goals of the firm.

Team Leadership: Setting clear performance targets, monitoring outcomes, coordinating work planning and holding team members accountable. Fostering professional growth and skill development through targeted training programmes.

Client Management: Youll be the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and maintaining robust client relationships. Overseeing the preparation and delivery of statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns. Conducting thorough reviews to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards. Attending key client meetings to discuss strategic issues and identify opportunities for providing added value services.

Department Support: Managing client billing, credit control, and overall client account administration. Achieving and striving to exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by the Head of OMB for both personal performance and client portfolio management.

  • Supervisory Experience: Essential to have prior supervisory experience, with a proven track record of effectively managing and developing a team.
  • Process Improvement: The ability to critically review and enhance existing systems and processes is highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, with excellent proficiency in English.
  • Professional Qualifications: Should hold an ACA or ACCA qualification, complemented by extensive experience in a practice setting.
  • Prioritisation Skills: Ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively, ensuring efficient workflow and deadline compliance.
