Job Advert: Full-Time Bookkeeper (Hybrid Working)

Tate is recruiting for an accomplished Full-Time Bookkeeper to take on a standalone accounting function for a Letchworth business, reporting into the MD & CEO. This role offers the flexibility of hybrid working, combining office-based collaboration with the convenience of remote work if desired, working 3 days in the office and 2 from home.

About the Role:


Our client requires a Bookkeeper to oversee and manage financial processes across multiple trading entities. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with UK financial regulations, and supporting cash flow management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing Multiple Trading Entities

Maintain financial records and oversee transactions for multiple trading entities, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Reconcile inter-company accounts and provide clear, consolidated financial reports.

  • Uploading Invoices

Upload invoices into the financial system, categorising and verifying them against purchase orders and receipts.

  • Credit Control

Follow up on overdue invoices to ensure timely collections and maintain healthy cash flow.

Address payment discrepancies through clear communication with clients and suppliers.

  • Approving Expenses

Review and approve employee expenses and vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and budgets.

Cross-check supporting documents and receipts for accuracy before payment approval.

  • Updating Cash Flow

Regularly update cash flow statements to reflect transactions and future projections.

Identify trends or discrepancies and provide actionable insights to management for financial planning.

  • Ensuring Accuracy of Financial Data

Conduct thorough reviews of financial records, correcting discrepancies and ensuring data integrity.

Work closely with accountants to reconcile accounts and verify financial reports.

  • Experience with Multiple Trading Entities: Proven ability to manage financial processes across diverse entities.
  • Training in Financial Software: Advanced capability to run full accounts function in Xero.
  • Relevant Experience: 2-4 years of bookkeeping or related financial roles.
  • Knowledge of UK Financial Regulations: Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: High attention to detail and effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Confident in liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams, being of strong personal character.
