Finance Manager required for a succesful Manufacturing business based in Letchworth Garden City. The Company prides itself on its ability and expertise to deliver the highest quality of products and services to some of the world’s leading brands.

This is a full time role and will report directly to the Finance Director.

  • Location: Letchworth Garden City
  • Hours: Monday to Friday - 09.00-17.30 - 37.5 hours per week
  • Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Assignment Details

  • To contribute to the day to day running of the business by overseeing the Finance, HR and IT functions and related personnel (4 staff)
  • To have oversight of and input into all areas of the company’s Finance function
  • To produce accurate monthly accounts by the due date on the following month including: P&L, Balance Sheet including analysis of sales, cost of sales and stock
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • To produce annual year-end financial information
  • To manage company cash flow and data collection on a daily basis
  • To maintain banking and external auditor relationships
  • To ensure proper functioning of all financial administration and financial processes, including accounting and budgets, employee salaries and benefits, and other internal processes
  • To ensure that the company financial systems comply with all statutory, legal and regulatory requirements
  • To monitor company overheads
  • To maintain the business disaster recovery plan
  • To manage company tax and insurances, credit assurance
  • To monitor company warehouse premises and associated costs including overseeing the monthly stock take process
  • To participate in HR matters. Support the HR manager.
  • To manage and support the ledger clerks in their extended role of monitoring Direct Debits and credit cards, fuel cards, utility readings

Skills Required

  • Accounting qualification and around four years post qualification experience.
  • Experience of running an invoice discounting facility
  • Experience of working in manufacturing background
  • Strong Sage50 experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills, to include pivot tables and v-lookups
  • Relevant experience in similar role is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Robust personality, comfortable communicating with all stakeholders from board directors to shop-floor staff, with the ability to win their goodwill and co-operation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to manage own projects to tight deadlines is essential.
  • Awareness of regulations, procedures around employment, Health and Safety concepts
  • Ability to prioritise workload during busy periods.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills and processes.
