About Us:
We are a leading shopfitting company specialising in bespoke retail displays for luxury brands. With a focus on quality craftsmanship and high-end finishes, we deliver custom retail environments that reflect the prestige of our clients. We are seeking an experienced Senior Joinery Buyer to join our procurement team and take responsibility for sourcing materials and subcontractor services to meet the high standards expected by our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the procurement of joinery materials, hardware, and subcontractor services, ensuring alignment with project specifications and timelines for high-end retail fit-outs.
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices, quality, and delivery schedules for bespoke joinery materials, including timber, MDF, veneers, laminates, and other finishing products.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to ensure consistent supply and service levels.
  • Oversee supplier performance, ensuring compliance with quality standards, delivery times, and cost targets.
  • Collaborate with the design, production, and project management teams to understand project needs and specifications, ensuring all materials are procured to exact requirements.
  • Conduct market research and stay up to date with industry trends, new materials, and innovations to ensure competitive advantage.
  • Manage purchase orders, contracts, and relevant documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality.
  • Resolve any supply issues and manage risks related to material shortages or delays.
  • Support the budgeting process and contribute to the overall financial planning of projects.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Buyer, ideally within the joinery or construction sectors, with a focus on bespoke and luxury projects.
  • Strong knowledge of joinery materials, sourcing processes, and supplier networks.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favourable terms with suppliers.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple procurement activities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in managing procurement documentation.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and experience working closely with production and design teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a buyer role, ideally within the joinery, shopfitting, or construction sectors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and procurement software systems.
