Full Time Permanent Role

Our Client is currently looking to employ a Quality Inspector / Quality Engineer to join their dynamic team. Our Client accomplish precision manufacturing within the aerospace and defence industries and are accredited to ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

The ideal candidate will be able to read detailed drawings with GD&T, complex assembly drawings, accomplish FAIRs to AS9102, utilise CMM equipment and other mechanical measuring equipment.

The hours would predominantly be from 8am to 6:15pm, four days a week Monday to Thursday, with opportunities for approved overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect parts using engineering drawings, CAD files and inspection tools/equipment including (but not limited to) micrometers, verniers, gauges, callipers or CMMs (amending/retaining programmes as required and ensuring all CMM reports are saved to the correct drive for onward dispatch to the customer as required) as per individual's training and authorisations
  • Create quality documentation, executing First Article Inspection (where authorisation held), ISIR, etc. and critical dimensions reports of component parts and sub-assemblies to the required industry standards.
  • Conduct batch, First off and Final inspection of machined/fabricated parts (inc. welding), working to tight aerospace tolerances, utilising manual inspection techniques and CMM as per individual's training and authorisations
  • Assist with customer documentation as required to facilitate all of the above
  • Carry out the inspection of components in accordance with the specification given in the route cards/ customer drawings/ instructions and identify the correct tools to achieve the best results
  • Report on non-conformances in a timely manner
  • Effectively communicate the inspection results and deviations from product drawings to Machining & Fabrication Team Leaders
  • Ensure all equipment used is calibrated and available for use
  • As required, assist with Goods in/Stores Inspection
  • Record the Quality Inspection room parameters on a daily/weekly basis as appropriate (temperature/lux) as directed by the Lead Quality Inspector
