I am currently seeking a Lead Mechanical Technician on behalf of my client, a leading designer and manufacturer of multi-stage ultrasonic cleaning and coating systems. Established in 1997, they supply cutting-edge solutions to a global customer base across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Mechanical Technician

• Assemble and fit mechanical components, machine frames, and structures.
• Perform precision mechanical assembly tasks, including drilling, tapping, and aligning components.
• Read and follow mechanical drawings and technical schematics accurately.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
• Identify and report any build process issues, such as part shortages or inaccurate drawings.
• Manage and lead the mechanical team, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
• Work closely with the Operations Director, lead electrical technician, and engineers to ensure designs are correctly implemented.
• Communicate any required design changes effectively and on time.
• Recruit, train, and supervise team members, fostering continuous development.

Requirements of the Lead Mechanical Technician

• Proven experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, and team leadership.
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly tasks, including drilling and tapping.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Good time management, flexibility, and ability to adapt to project needs.
