Role:Â Buyer
Location:Â Letchworth Garden City
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000, bonus
An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a driven Buyer to join a fast growing client based in Letchworth Garden City.
Duties of a Buyer:
- Actively source electronic components, materials, and suppliers based on the needs of our manufacturing clients.
- Negotiate prices, lead times, and terms with suppliers to secure the best value for the business.
- Maintain and develop relationships with current and new suppliers, ensuring high levels of reliability and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor stock levels, reorder components as needed, and proactively manage the procurement process.
- Interpret and read technical drawings (approx. 10% of the role) to ensure that the sourced components meet the specifications and requirements of our clients.
- Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including placing orders, tracking deliveries, and managing any discrepancies or quality issues.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, product innovations, and market pricing to support strategic sourcing decisions
What we would like from you:
- Proven experience as a Buyer, Purchasing Officer, or in a similar procurement role, ideally within the electronics or manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing electronic components, materials, and suppliers.
- Basic understanding of technical drawings and product specifications.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with purchasing and inventory management software.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
