Quantity Surveyor

gap construction are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to work for a successful main contractor to work in their head office.

Performance Objectives
To carry out surveying duties on residential sites to include:

Prepare tender and contract documents, as agreed with the Contracts Manager;
Undertake cost analysis for ad hoc repair and maintenance project work;
Support land acquisitions by providing cost information and risk analysis;
Perform cost control for risk and value management;
Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks;
Prepare and analyse costings for tenders;
Prepare budgets for all aspects of project construction;
Allocate orders for work to sub-contractors;
Provide advice on contractual claims;
Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports;
Value completed work and arrange payments;
Understand the implications of health and safety regulations;
Represent the company in a professional manner at all times;
Liaise with clients relating to Housing Association matters and attend their meetings;
Make regular visit to sites to ensure costs are controlled, subcontractors are managed and quality is upheld;
Co-ordinate with the Sales Manager to ensure that appropriate support is given to achieving the company's sales targets;
Ensure that the delivery and maintenance of the show areas are given appropriate attention in accordance with the requirement of the Sales Manager.
Comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

Person Specification

Ability to use own initiative.
Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and cohesively as part of a team.
Self motivated and proactive.
Professional presentation.
Must be dynamic, professional, and forward thinking.
Responsive to meet tender submission deadlines.
Surveying experience
Experience in residential development
Must have degree in quantity surveying or related
Desirable RICS
