gap construction are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to work for a successful main contractor to work in their head office.

Performance Objectives
To carry out surveying duties on residential sites to include:

  • Prepare tender and contract documents, as agreed with the Contracts Manager;
  • Undertake cost analysis for ad hoc repair and maintenance project work;
  • Support land acquisitions by providing cost information and risk analysis;
  • Perform cost control for risk and value management;
  • Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks;
  • Prepare and analyse costings for tenders;
  • Prepare budgets for all aspects of project construction;
  • Allocate orders for work to sub-contractors;
  • Provide advice on contractual claims;
  • Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports;
  • Value completed work and arrange payments;
  • Understand the implications of health and safety regulations;
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times;
  • Liaise with clients relating to Housing Association matters and attend their meetings;
  • Make regular visit to sites to ensure costs are controlled, subcontractors are managed and quality is upheld;
  • Co-ordinate with the Sales Manager to ensure that appropriate support is given to achieving the company's sales targets;
  • Ensure that the delivery and maintenance of the show areas are given appropriate attention in accordance with the requirement of the Sales Manager.
  • Comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  • To fulfil your duties in accordance with the Company's Health and Safety policy and procedures

  • Ability to use own initiative.
  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and cohesively as part of a team.
  • Self motivated and proactive.
  • Professional presentation.
  • Must be dynamic, professional, and forward thinking.
  • Responsive to meet tender submission deadlines.
  • Surveying experience
