Quantity Surveyor Estimator duties and responsibilities.

To carry out surveying duties on residential sites to include:
  • Prepare tender and contract documents, as agreed with the Construction Director;
  • Prepare and analyse costings for tenders;
  • Chair pre-order meetings with sub-contractors and Site Teams;
  • Produce and issue orders for work to sub-contractors;
  • Prepare budgets for all aspects of project construction;
  • Value completed work and arrange payments;
  • Present monthly Cost variance performance to the Construction Director;
  • Make regular visit to sites to ensure costs are controlled, subcontractors are managed and quality is upheld;
  • Pro-actively manage sub-contractor accounts;
  • Procure new sub-contractors for tender opportunities;
  • Perform cost control for risk and value management;
  • Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks;
  • Provide advice on contractual claims;
  • Undertake cost analysis for ad hoc repair and maintenance project work;
  • Support land acquisitions by providing cost information and risk analysis;
  • Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports;
  • Understand the implications of health and safety regulations;
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times;
  • Liaise with clients relating to Housing Association matters and attend their meetings;
  • Co-ordinate with the Sales Manager to ensure that appropriate support is given to achieving the companys sales targets;
  • Ensure that the delivery and maintenance of the show areas are given appropriate attention in accordance with the requirement of the Sales Manager.
