Our client seeking a meticulous and experienced Legal Cashier to join our dynamic team in Brighton. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial transactions and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations within our law firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Maintain office and client ledgers, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the firm's accounts are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Payments Processing: Handle CHAPS, International, and Faster payments daily within specified deadlines.
  • Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR), VAT regulations, and anti-money laundering (AML) guidelines.
  • Billing: Manage complex billing routines and ensure accurate invoicing.
  • Cheque Handling: Raise, post, and distribute client and office cheques, including banking.
  • Reporting: Prepare financial reports and assist with audits as required.
  • Support: Provide support to the Head of Finance and other team members as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar role within a legal environment.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of VAT, AML rules, and Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • IT Skills: Proficiency in legal accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
