Bookkeeper

Lewes, circa £15 per hour, 3 or 4 days a week across Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm (21-28 hours per week), temporary ongoing position (likely 6 months), paid weekly, Christmas shutdown.

The role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a small and long standing team within a firmly established company based centrally in Lewes. As a highly reputable family-run business, they are looking to recruit someone who is seeking a temporary position for approximately 6 months, and possesses a traditional nature with an up-to-date approach to accounting. The successful candidate will need to be experienced, friendly and adaptable. There will be relative autonomy with this position, so the job holder will need to be confident working independently and be self-motivated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bank reconciliations
  • Posting to Sales, Purchase and Nominal Ledgers
  • Raising customer and client invoices and credit notes and supplying statement of accounts
  • Paying client and supplier invoices
  • VAT returns
  • Credit control

Requirements:

You will need to be an experienced Bookkeeper that is confident working independently. An efficient and flexible approach will be required, and the ability to prioritise own workload. Experienced in using Sage 50 online would be preferable. As this is a temporary position in an ongoing capacity the client will need commitment to the role until the end of the assignment.

Package

Circa £15 per hour, paid weekly
