Product Manager – Passenger Information Systems

A global leader in passenger information systems for public transport is seeking a Product Manager to support its transition to a Cloud-based platform. This organisation designs, develops, and manufactures cutting-edge solutions for the public transport industry, with a strong international presence across Europe, North America, and Australasia.

As part of an exciting phase of growth, this role will focus on providing technical product training, supporting sales teams, and working on customer onboarding for new cloud-based services. The position requires expertise in both hardware and software systems, making it ideal for someone comfortable with SaaS solutions and public transport technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver product training to internal teams and external customers in the UK and overseas.
  • Work with the sales team to onboard customers to new cloud-based platforms and support existing product lines.
  • Build relationships with public transport operators, ensuring a smooth transition to newer technologies.
  • Assist in technical sales support, responding to tenders and complex customer queries.
  • Support the Sales Director in developing and implementing technical sales strategies.
  • Stay informed on industry trends to ensure products remain at the forefront of transport technology innovations.
Essential Requirements
  • Strong customer management experience at a senior level.
  • Technical background in electronics and/or software, with an understanding of hardware interfaces and communication networks.
  • Knowledge of Cloud-based technology, including hosting infrastructure, security, and software functionality.
  • Excellent communication skills to support internal teams and external stakeholders during the transition to new products.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise work in a dynamic, fast-changing technical environment.
  • Self-motivated, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of the public transport industry and its specific challenges.
  • Familiarity with on-vehicle electrical systems (software/hardware troubleshooting).
  • Foreign language skills would be an advantage.
