We are seeking a Field Technical Support Engineer to join our clients team, they are  based in Lewes but frequently attending customer sites across the UK. This role involves a mix of on-site installations, repairs, surveys, and in-office technical support. You will be a key player in ensuring our customers receive the highest level of service and support.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Attend various customer sites for installations, repairs, and surveys.
  • Provide technical support to customers via email, phone, and Teams when in the office.
  • Configure equipment for installation and prepare customer media using bespoke software.
  • Support internal departments and work on multiple projects, involving tasks such as installing equipment on vehicles, configuring servers, and assisting with repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and maintain a courteous manner.
  • Manage and prioritise your own workload, being self-disciplined and organised.
  • Attend meetings in person and via Teams, ensuring punctuality and meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain a tidy and organised workspace, responsibly using tools and equipment provided.
  • Flexibility in working hours and willingness for occasional overnight stays away from home.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Comfortable with Windows-based machines and familiar with networking and serial protocols.
  • Experience with electrical and electronic device repairs, including soldering and cable repairs.
  • Full UK driving licence and a valid passport for global travel.
  • Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office packages and Windows OS.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving, able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of serial communication standards and protocols.
  • Experience with Linux, system design, and technical support roles is highly beneficial.
