We are delighted to be partnered with our successful, professional and friendly client as they seek to recruit a Payroll Administrator to join their team at their offices in Lewes. This role is an office based position.

A background within a payroll bureau would be highly advantageous but candidates with payroll administration experience will also be considered seriously. Excellent opportunity for payroll experienced candidates to join a very successful, established and expanding business.

Payroll Administrator

Full time permanent role - part time hours will also be considered

Monday-Friday 0830-1630 or 0900-1700

Role based in Lewes with free parking for staff

Salary - £32000-£34000 per year - Good company benefits, including an excellent pension scheme and staff events / incentives. 20 days holiday plus all UK bank holidays.

Payroll Administrator - duties will include:

Processing client payrolls accurately and efficiently

Checking accuracy of calculations before sending to client and HMRC

Assisting clients with any queries regarding their payroll via phone or email

Downloading tax notifications from HMRC website and process RTI submissions to HMRC

Importing and exporting excel files into and out of payroll

Creating payroll journals and ad-hoc reports

Creating a variety of pension auto-enrolment files for submission to pension providers

Any other ad-hoc admin related work

Experience, competencies and knowledge required

Strong payroll experience (preferably from within a bureau but not essential)

A knowledge of using payroll software

Have good knowledge of Excel for creating spreadsheets and importing data in and out of payroll software

Must have a good understanding of statutory payments and deductions including maternity pay/statutory sick pay/paternity pay/student loans/attachments of earnings etc.

Good communication skills and polite telephone manner when speaking to clients on the phone

Have a good understanding of the auto-enrolment pension law.
