REED is assisting a secondary school in Sussex in their search for an English Teacher to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated educator to develop and deliver a comprehensive English curriculum and foster a love for literature and language among students.
Day-to-day of the role:- Develop and deliver a comprehensive English curriculum for various grade levels.
- Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Encourage a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking through dynamic and innovative teaching methods.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate English education into the broader academic program and contribute to interdisciplinary learning.
- Stay updated with current educational trends and best practices in English teaching to ensure the highest quality of education.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching certification in English (state-specific requirements apply).
- Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A strong passion for literature, language, and student development.
- Ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities and backgrounds.
- Hold an enhanced child-only DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
