Aspiring Social Worker

This role is ideal if you have aspirations in the field of social work, especially in supporting children who have struggles at home, vunlerable or harmful disadvantages which leads to trauma and, challenging behaviour.

We are looking for a dedicated Aspiring Social Workerto support children with moderate learning difficulties and, additional mental health needs. This school is based in Lewes for children aged 4-16 and has speciailised in SEMH to provide exceptional education and, provide extra help for traumatised children and, young people.

You will be helping children who have come from trauma/neglected backgrounds, challenging behaviour, ADHD or Autism and, also have developed mental health issues due to their needs and, require additional support with improving social, emotional and mental well-being.

Responsibilities of an Aspiring Social Worker:

  • Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students.
  • Ability to perform conflict resolution and de-escalation.
  • Behaviour and pastoral support.
  • Take an active role in forward planning with therapists.
  • Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students.
  • Ensure safeguarding of students, in line with procedures.
  • Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD.

  • Have an understanding with challenging behaviour.
  • Always be adaptable in any give situation.
