R&D Project Manager
Role Overview
The R&D Project Manager is responsible for the on-time, on-budget and on-spec delivery of business-critical engineering projects, including electronics hardware, embedded software and system control software.
· Role located in Lewes, East Sussex at one of the organisation’s 3 global R&D centres
· Reporting to the Director of Project Management and the Global Project Management team
· Working closely the Head of R&D
Key Responsibilities
· Manage R&D Projects in line with company project management processes
· and values
· Ensure clear communication / reporting on project status, highlighting project
· risks and opportunities
· Reporting of project status up to CTO / CEO level
· Initiate process / tool and method improvement activities to deliver measurable improvements in project delivery
· Ensure process synchronisation with Global Project Management team
Experience and Skills Required
· Strong background in managing multiple engineering projects with a particular focus on R&D
· Experience in Agile project management methodologies – expertise in the use of JIRA or similar tools will be advantageous
· A confident self-starter - you will be able to quickly establish yourself as part of the R&D department and manage projects with authority and diplomacy
· An excellent communicator - you have a proven track record of driving complex technical projects in a technology business to meet key deliverables
Education & Qualifications
· Degree in a relevant subject such as Engineering / Computer Science / Mathematics or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience
· Possession of a Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2 or APM would be desirable
· Technical training will be provided on the company’s technology and product range
