About the Company:A well-respected accountancy practice based in Preston is looking for a talented Accounts Senior to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accountant to manage a diverse portfolio of clients and provide high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services. The Role:As an Accounts Senior, you will take responsibility for preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing client relationships, and providing valuable business insights. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior staff and play a key role in the continuous improvement of the firm’s processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing financial statements for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships in accordance with UK GAAP.
  • Preparing and reviewing management accounts, VAT returns, and tax computations.
  • Completing personal and corporate tax returns for a variety of clients.
  • Liaising directly with clients to discuss their accounts, tax matters, and offer advisory services.
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring all work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Reviewing the work of junior staff and providing feedback and guidance.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and recommending value-added services.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, becoming their trusted advisor.
  • Assisting with audit assignments when required (if applicable).
  • Staying updated with accounting standards, tax regulations, and legislative changes.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years' experience in an accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, tax regulations, and compliance.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements, management accounts, and tax returns.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines, with strong organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is an advantage.
  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude with a focus on delivering high-quality client service.
