Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with the patience, resilience, and skills to support a child with challenging and violent behaviour? We are looking for a 1:1 Support TA to work with a pupil in Leyland who requires structured, compassionate, and consistent support to navigate their learning environment.

This role is ideal for someone with strong behaviour management skills who can implement de-escalation strategies and foster a calm, structured, and positive learning atmosphere. If you're proactive, empathetic, and committed to making a difference, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 tailored support for a child with challenging and violent behaviours.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies and work closely with school staff and SEN specialists.
  • Foster a calm and structured learning environment to support emotional regulation.
  • Use positive reinforcement techniques and de-escalation strategies.
  • Maintain detailed records of the child's progress and behavioural incidents.
  • Liaise with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to create and implement individualised support plans.
  • Support the child both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring their safety and engagement in learning.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, or violent behaviour.
  • Strong ability to de-escalate situations and remain calm under pressure.
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting children with complex needs.
  • Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) or significant relevant experience.
  • Experience in positive behaviour support strategies (Team Teach, MAPA, or similar training preferred).
  • Ability to build trusting relationships and engage with children effectively.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
