Finance Director (18 month MAT Cover) - Up to £110,000 - Preston/Hybrid

Are you a qualified Finance Director with a keen eye for detail and a passion for accuracy? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Director to join a well-established $1.5bn turnover business. If you thrive in a high-volume environment and have a proven track record of delivering timely and precise management accounts, we want to hear from you!

Duties:

  • Regularly communicate and provide financial support to businesses and shared service functions.

  • Standardise Management Accounts and Financial reporting, offering recommendations and driving necessary changes.

  • Establish and maintain a strong financial control environment and culture across the UK group, ensuring alignment with the GFR manual and policies.

  • Engage in and deliver the audit process, including timely and accurate audit deliverables, and manage relationships with internal and external audit partners.

  • Effectively communicate financial performance for businesses and shared service functions, including consolidated reporting for actuals, forecasts, budgets, statutory accounts, and GFR reporting.

  • Ensure all balance sheets are fully reconciled, highlighting control risks and identifying opportunities.

  • Maintain, develop, and utilise UK ERP and other finance-related systems.

  • Provide accurate and timely ad hoc reporting and financial analysis to UK businesses and shared service functions.

  • Oversee the balance sheet, cash flow budget, and forecasting process for the UK, addressing and escalating concerns early.

  • Foster a cultural shift from individual businesses to a UK business shared service group, promoting engagement and best practice sharing.

  • Lead the Finance team by providing leadership, motivation, and development opportunities, ensuring a robust succession plan is in place.

Essential:

  • CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced level)
  • Experience managing a large team
  • Experience in producing accurate management accounts under strict deadlines
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong presentation skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in a high-volume business environment
  • Experience working for a high turnover business
  • Background in the Travel Industry
  • Familiarity with Sage, especially Sage X3
