SJC Partners are delighted to be hiring for a Warehouse Manager on behalf of an excellent business based in Leyland. The purpose of the role will involve the efficient management and control of the warehouse operation whilst focusing on agreed budgetary and service levels. You will be responsible for organising safe and efficient receipt, storage and the dispatch of warehouse materials and products.Your duties in the role would include:
  • Review and prepare workflow, manning and space requirements including layout and future capacity requirements, and action plans ensuring optimal productivity/operational performance in line with productivity, quality and customer service standards
  • Manage an efficient warehouse operation which is able to fulfil operational and customer demand
  • Provide a safe working environment, adhering to Health & Safety and Environmental procedures, ensuring they are understood and practiced by the team at all times
  • Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods
  • Ensure the relevance and accuracy of all documentation relating to goods in and goods out including labelling of all stock items
  • Control inventory levels by ensuring accurate physical counts are conducted and reconciled with the automated system utilising the help of the warehouse team
  • Identify any system requirements/improvements and drive through recommendations for change
  • Review ways to reduce waste
  • Create and implement policies and procedures for warehouse activities and ensure all systems meet the standards for accreditation in line with the quality systems
  • Ensure a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency
  • Inspect equipment, tools and machinery regularly and oversee general maintenance as needed
  • Coach, manage and develop warehouse staff to optimise performance and meet targets and deadlines
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with business requirements
Key skills required for the role would include:
  • Proven management skills with the ability to build, lead and motivate a skilled team to meet objectives and agreed targets and optimise team performance and development
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Methodology and implementation as well as Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
  • ISO 9001 experience (desirable)
  • Strong communicator, attention to detail and self-motivated
  • Good IT skills ie; spreadsheets, databases and a knowledge of warehouse systems
  • Strong decision making skills
