MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

FLEXIBLE WORKING HOURS

My client, a growing manufacturer in the Northwest has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and technically minded Mechanical Design Engineer. Working within this well-established company you will be involved in the full design process of new products and instrumental in all aspects of engineering research, design and innovation. The business has is experiencing a continued increase in business and this is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a growing team.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop & maintain craft, assemblies and systems in the form of 3D models.
  • Develop drawings and documentation to required specifications.
  • Working on projects from concept to completion
  • Liaise with Projects, Purchasing, Production & Workshop Teams to ensure smooth product development & manufacture.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications.
  • Designing and developing high quality and innovative products to meet the company's technical and commercial requirements.
  • Regular interaction with clients, suppliers and contractors
  • Focus will be on, safety, reliability, quality and functionality.
  • Developing composite, machined, sheet metal and welded fabrications in line with the abilities of our fabricators.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Working knowledge of Engineering Design System (3D CAD)
  • Specific experience with 3D Autodesk Inventor, 3D experience on Solidworks is beneficial.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • AlphaCAM - Experience would be great but full training provided
  • Full clean valid driving licence
