Alexander Daniels are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join a successful finance team. The successful candidate will have the option to go from Temp to perm. The successful candidate will be involved with the day-to-day management of financial accounts and management accountants, including balance sheet, P&L, budgeting and forecasting. The Assistant Accountant will work closely with the Business Reporting Accountant to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Accounts

  • Assist the Business Reporting Accountant with the preparation and analysis of management reports.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company goals.
  • Analyse variances between actual and budgeted figures, providing insightful commentary.
  • Prepare and present financial data to support business decision-making.
  • Respond to financial queries from internal stakeholders, providing clear and concise information.

General Duties

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Continuously seek process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function.
  • Maintain accurate and organised financial records.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial processes are understood and followed.
  • Participate in special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and finance and/or studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
  • Proven experience in a similar accounting role, with a strong understanding of both financial and management accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
