Alexander Daniels are currently recruiting for an Assistant Financial Accountant on behalf of a specialist business based in Lichfield on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting the Lead Accountant and working as part of a collaborative and friendly team, you will provide support and gain exposure to the following tasks:

  • Develop and maintain the cash-flow forecast
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation
  • Assist in the coordination of external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording of assets
  • Post accruals, prepayments, and payroll journals accurately and in a timely manner
  • Bank reconciliations
  • VAT returns
  • Post incoming cash to the accounts receivable ledger
  • Facilitate timely and accurate payments to suppliers
  • Undertake any other projects and ad-hoc tasks as required

The ideal candidate will hold either an AAT qualification or a degree in Accounting & Finance (or related field) with a view to studying towards a professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, or equivalent. You must have proven experience in a fast-paced finance department, preferably within the logistics industry, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a "roll your sleeves up" mentality.
