Spinwell is recruiting for a Project Engineer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF PROJECT ENGINEER

  • Promote strong working relationships both within the team and with other teams across DIO and wider organisation
  • Drive adoption of the new Defence Infrastructure Counter Terrorism Measure guidance by working with delivery colleagues to build understanding and adherence
  • Support DIO Technical Services with CTM queries, providing expert CTM knowledge and input
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Work with stakeholders in front-line commends, FMC, Defence and across DIO to ensure the new guidance is adopted and roles and responsibilities are fully understood
  • Work with Front-line commands to support their adoption of the new CTM approach
  • Support wider MPP with CTM guidance for projects, ensuring proportionate application of guidance.
  • Using Engineering knowledge/background to roll out training.
  • Delivering new guidance created.
  • Understand and advise on new guidance.
  • The individual will need to work closely with Front Line Command (FLC) Physical Security Advisers, Major Programmes and Project team (MPP), Project Manager and FLC requirement managers to ensure that the potential for CTM efficiencies is met and delivered.
  • There is also potential that the policy guidance can be further simplified in the coming months and this individual would need to work closely with Technical Services to consider other opportunities not yet realised.
  • The post holder supports the MPP Counter Terrorism Measures (CTM) Project, working with Technical Service, which has sought to bring coherence, understanding and update DIO and Defence Guidance on the application of CTM.

    SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF PROJECT ENGINEER
  • Counter Terrorism Engineering experience.
  • Construction Engineering/background
  • Project Engineering
  • Relevant engineering qualifications
  • An engineering SME WITH Project Manager experience
    - Can relate, and advise back into the project
  • Public sector/Defence background would be very useful
  • Construction / Design / Civil Engineering.
  • Application of CTM as an Engineer within Projects.
  • Stakeholder Management PMs / Technical Support.
  • Some understanding of CTM
  • Able to hit the ground running.
