PLC Engineer
As a PLC Engineer in Lichfield, you have the opportunity to work for a leading FMCG manufacturing company that has been investing in development for over a decade. Reporting to the Engineer Manager and Project Manager, your duties will involve developing, implementing, and managing the automation of equipment and machines within the facility.
Duties - PLC Engineer
You will be responsible for programming PLCs from various manufacturers such as Schneider, Siemens, Proface, and B&R. In addition, you must be able to collaborate effectively with the IT department to ensure seamless integration of automation systems.Â
Ideal Candidate - PLC Engineer
Experience with SIEMENS (Step7, WinCC, TIA portal), SCHNEIDER (PL7, Unity, VijeoDesigner, SoMachine), and B&R (automation studio) is essential for this role. You should also have knowledge of frequency drives from DANFOSS, SEW, and SCHNEIDER, as well as HMI systems like Proface. Familiarity with robotics, particularly Fanuc, and the ability to read schematics using SEE Electrical Expert will also be advantageous.
To succeed in this role, you must be able to work autonomously, demonstrate flexibility in your working hours, and be proactive in finding pragmatic solutions to technical challenges. Clear communication skills are essential for conveying problems and potential solutions to colleagues with minimal programming knowledge. Moreover, you should have a good understanding of industry regulations to ensure compliance in your work.
Hours & Benefits - PLC Engineer
The working hours for this position are flexible, based on standard office hours, with a requirement of 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. The basic salary for this role is £50,000 per annum, with additional compensation for overtime and Sunday work (£36 per hour for overtime and £48 per hour for Sundays).
