FLEET MAINTENANCE CONTROLLER

My client, a commercial vehicle company who have been in the industry for many years, are looking for a dedicated, and meticulousMaintenance Controller / Fleet Administrator / Service Controller / Fleet Maintenance Planner / Fleet Maintenance Controller / Workshop Controller / Workshop Administrator / Fleet Controller / Service Maintenance Controllerto join one of their sites, based near Lichfield, to assist and to support all the workshop / maintenance control.

Main Duties of theMaintenance Controller / Fleet Administrator / Service Controller / Fleet Maintenance Planner / Fleet Maintenance Controller / Workshop Controller / Workshop Administrator / Fleet Controller / Service Maintenance Controller:

Costings of work
Identifying parts using manufacturer parts identification tools, & booking of parts to workshop job cards using the Kerridge DMS system.
Answering the telephone & dealing with customer enquiries.
Dealing with customer enquiries on the Service Reception counter.
Preparing job cards & raising invoices in line with works carried out & manufacturer guidelines using Kerridge DMS system, and outside customer authorisation platforms
Managing the Maintenance of vehicles
Ensuring the Vehicle Planners and Schedulers are working correctly
Managing the shifts work load in accordance with customer expectations.
Plus other ad hoc duties related to workshop control and service / fleet administration
Dealing with customers nationwide
Maintenance Scheduling and planning
Communicating with supplier workshops
Ensuring smooth running of the fleet, workshop and maintenance

This position is within their team controlling the safety inspections, defects, breakdowns and MOTs for their fleet of over 1,200 trucks and trailers throughout the UK.

You will be responsible for controlling on-site defects, roadside breakdowns and ensuring all vehicles remain compliant in-line with customers operators licenses maintenance schedules, through their own workshops and their approved nationwide vendor partners.

In the role you will be responsible for monitoring progress, obtaining customer authorisations and arranging workloads along with challenging and authorising expenditure for all work carried out, ensuring scheduled activity is linked to minimise downtime and to control asset expenditure.

To succeed in this role applicants must be an excellent communicator, be a competent computer user and have the ability to work in a team. In addition, previous mechanical experience in a similar role would be a distinct advantage.

  • Previous experience in a fleet administrator / service controller / workshop controller role
  • Automotive experience
  • Negotiation skills
  • Commercial Automotive would be an advantage
  • IT Literate - Good Computer skills
  • Customer Focuses and a team player
  • Knowledge of Operators Licence Compliance and advantage
  • Previous Experience in a similar role with inspection, MOT and commercial vehicle scheduling and advantage
